Heard this one was by a new writer, and I'm pretty sure they're a Sam-person.
I have to doubt we'll be hearing more about Sam's psychic powers because they have always served at the convenience of the plot and having to explain away why they've been dormant for the past decade wouldn't be convenient. It would also be giving the Winchesters a supernatural advantage while they're up against human big bads. I would forgive this season any number of annoyances if I turn out to be wrong about this, but, well, *prayer hands.* It might inspire some fanfic, at least.
I was surprised by how fast and low-key Dean had his Mom-needs-space epiphany - I was expecting slow-burn angst until at least the mid-season finale. Which is only four episodes from now, wtf?
I'm not sure what was more chilling - that Dean insisted he should be the one to off the suspect because killing her would make him feel better - or that he was gonna hook up with the woman he came thisclose to killing. Like, dude, if she had put on a stiff upper lip and pretended not to hate her job you would have executed an innocent woman in cold blood.
I would like it more if the MoL-British-invasion was being set up to actually question this system of extrajudicial killing-or-pardoning-depending-on-how-they-feel-that-day and presenting alternatives that were at least semi-viable - because the system the Winchesters and allies have going is fucked from so many ethical perspectives. But alas, I'm pretty sure the BMoL is here to validate it because, hey, at least our boys are not quite as bad as Mr. Ketch.
Except for when it comes to motorcycle vs Impala. They do seem to be about even in the terrible-choice-for-a-stealth-vehicle department.
