I felt the whole "get off my lawn" wasn't anti-immigration, so much as a) I'm an old mother-fucker who is unthinkably older than you and b) was around the last time you Brits got kicked out of America. I am so sad to see him dead, because he was amazingly fun on screen and I love his presence.
My husband and I went back and forth on the vampire genocide, because Lenore, but also because Lenore season 6, wherein everyone gave in sooner or later, and also because no more vampires = no more anyone ending up in Lenore's shoes. We still haven't decided on which side we fall.
When it comes to other monsters, though, especially ones that are genetic - maybe Sam just isn't thinking it through yet. He sure doesn't know about the folks the BMoL have killed in their wake.
I did like that both Ketch and Mick (I think, can't remember his name so much) got fleshed out more here, but MAN am I unimpressed with the BMoL. Although I'm pretty sure now I see why they didn't step in during the apocalypse - outside of Ketch, they have almost no ability to competently plan and carry out anything. (Even Sam's kidnapping and torture, while planned in advance, was horribly executed and barely successful.)
I think you're right, Ketch isn't a MoL, he's a hunter. It would explain girl-whose-name-I-didn't-care-to-remember's antipathy towards him, very reminiscent of the American chapter's similar disgust toward hunters.
