I love both boys madly, and I find your post so insightful because it looks at the flaws as well as the heroism in both... and I do think these past weeks people have been just crazy anti-Sam. I don't get how easily people forget all he's been through. People DO screw up. People do hurt, and say things in anger and frustration when their message never seems to get through, however delivered.
I want him to say he was ready to die and why wouldn't Dean do what's best for him, what he wants? And I want Dean to say that he wasn't sure, considering Sam'd been full of hope before the trials, and there wasn't time or a chance to consult Sam before choices had to be made... and...crud.I hope we can move towards the forgiveness part soon. I hate it when they're at odds. :(
