Lovely, lovely job--and not only is "Life going nowhere" the perfect line to use as the refrain for this situation, it's such a Sam line for their larger predicament. (So of course my brain, being contrary, keeps jumping tracks from "Stayin' Alive" to "Another One Bites the Dust"....)
