Well, I'd argue that some would say a few things were "accomplished": Mary and Jack escaped. And Donatello is no longer in the game. (Okay, this isn't so much an accomplishment as a loss of resources. Albeit a compromised resource. Mostly, it was a way to get the character out of the way and make for an excuse to busy Sam while Dean and Cas get to have an adventure. Who, me, bitter? NAAAAW.)
