I read that part about Dean saying 'No I am going to keep it' and thought LOTR. ... and then when i finished the story, I read your note about how you wanted it to BE like that.

A more perfect version of the Winchester version of the LOTR could not be possible. Thanks for writing! I absolutely adored this!
