I really loved this episode, and agree - the few little mistakes are FAR outweighed by the awesome. <3

One tiny little thing, though - the other angels didn't lose their wings entirely. Remember Gadreel's wing shadows last season? And the scorch marks left behind when angels died that were like, thin and misshapen but still THERE? The other angels' wings should be similar to how Cas's looked in this episode, unless they're slowly healing, in which case most of them would probably look better than his by now. :/
I figured that Cas's wings looked like they did because of Metatron using up a large portion of his grace in the spell to cast the angels out. :(
ETA: Because I forgot - I LOVED what you said about Sam saying he wouldn't do the same thing "under the same exact circumstances, EXACTLY, that's the biggest problem I have with the way they handled the end of last season - Sam had VALID grievances that were brushed aside like "oh, he was pissed and said mean things that weren't true" :/ *seethes*
Also, I hate that Sam and Cas are both lying to Dean in this episode, but I find it somewhat understandable from Cas, sadly. :/ There's this LOOK that crosses his face when Dean asks "How'd that happen?" about him getting his grace back, and that look alone made my mind go back to Dean's reactions to all the mistakes Cas has made BEFORE, and poor Cas I think just didn't want to get berated and shamed for screwing up AGAIN. :/
The irony (if that's actually the word here, I think it is :P hehe) is that at this point Dean probably WOULDN'T have berated and shamed him. Dean's messed up enough I think he's more understanding at this point - I think he'd have been more like "Dude, that sucks, but at least you're back" - but Cas can't know that. :/
