Yes, that same Oscar Isaac. He is also, astonishingly, the same guy as the computer billionaire in Ex Machina, where he appears opposite the guy who plays Hux. Also, Kylo Ren has a bit part in ILD, which is very wack.

Re something and Nothingness:
Logically, Amara can't be truly "nothing" -- she has to be at least something or how would she have consciousness at all....
If you look at the universe you can envision Amara in a lot of different ways.
1. I see her as entropy, the state of rest that things eventually fall into, ie "the heat death of the universe"
2. I also see her as a the emptiness the universe is expanding into... but at the same time, the spaces between the subatomic particles.
3. I think there are some primordial ideas of something like Amara. Tiamat, the goddess of primeval chaos; or Kali, the goddess of destruction -- but Amara is something more primordial even than chaos or destruction. It's kind of interesting to look at Gaiman's Endless (Death, Destiny, Dream, Delirium, Desire, Destruction, Despair) and see how Amara is the resting point beyond any of those Endless.
4. There's kind of a taoist aspect to Amara's relationship to Chuck. Chuck is the restless creative force, teeming with multiplicity and abundance, whereas Amara is the end, the rest, the falling into oneness. Without going too much into the active/hot/masculine vs the cool/dark/feminine ........ Chuck's attempt to lock away Amara away is understandable, because she is the inevitable outcome.... as humans we don't really have to worry about the Sun eventually going dark, but it will, and unfortunately if you are God you do have to watch that.... supernovas and black holes are out there everywhere -- not too mention the so-called "dark matter" whatever it is that is somehow holding things together...

Yeah, so I think Amara is my all-time favorite Big Bad. Yay Amara!!!
