This episode was super confusing. I don't understand why the Winchesters are assumed to NOT be normal when the show has always bent over backwards to remind us that they're human. Isn't that normal enough?
I'm having a hard time explaining to myself why this episode was not a backhand for the fans but meant to be a humorous episode. There were things I liked at my first watch, but mostly I came away feeling kind embarrassed for myself.

I found that interesting. I was fully expecting Sam to miss the catch considering the premise of the episode and when he caught it, it made me wonder: could it be because their co-ordination is connected to their brother bond? Is it possible that Dabb's deliberately implying that, whatever else Chuck messes with, he can't take that away from them? Or am I giving Dabb too much credit?
About the only thing that made sense in their "bad luck" was Dean's 17 cavities. I assumed he'd always HAD them, but never felt them. Since he never saw a dentist, he just never got them diagnosed and then God decided to take the not feeling them part away.
Some of the being "normal" does make sense if you think God has been keeping them in good physical shape. It's one of the reasons Sam's brain isn't mush. The lost skills are iffier, because I didn't think God was improving them, just letting their natural skills work and then making sure the monsters died at the end of the fight. I do think that once Garth suggest to Sam and Dean that God had been helping them all along that they psyched themselves into worrying about their skills and that caused the fallout. Like panicking about taking a test even though you always did well on test before, but you couldn't find your lucky pencil that OF COURSE is why you passed before.
I'm someone who never wanted Chuck to be God, because I apparently think the way Dabb does and having God directly involved in the adventures of Sam and Dean does bring up some questions about how much was them, how much was God and how does the universe work. So, in a way, this episode made sense to me.
