Is it just me?

Me, in bed at night, trying to work through the point where I'm stuck in my fic: Oh, that'll work. That's brilliant. Fits with canon, fits with the rest of the story, absolutely perfect.

Me, in the shower the next morning: That is absolutely the stupidest idea I've ever had.

YOU'RE NOT ALONE. I share this burden and this misery. *weeps*

I've been there! It's such a let down.

Sometimes I also think of things just as I drop off to sleep and I'm like 'yeah, that's awesome and perfect', but I don't write it down and then I wake up the next morning and I've completely forgotten it.

OH DEAR LORD YES.

Yep, and not just at the idea stage. I'll be writing late at night thinking "wow, I'm really on a roll!" And the next day read it over and think, "What the hell?"

Ha ha absolutely no, it's not just you. I also do the one where I'm in bed at night, find the cure to that sticking point that will be absolutely brilliant then get to the next morning and can't remember what the fuck the idea was.

NOO. Trust your instincts, you. I'm sure it was awesome.
