There's no doubt the plot had weaknesses, but I loved the way they managed to show how desperate Sam and Dean were with minimal action. Sam flinching when the door was closed, Dean's dead-eyed look after two weeks had passed...It all felt so visceral to me. These guys don't talk, they don't express their feelings (except when they DO!) and yet I FELT how miserable it was for them to be separated and isolated from each other. That they came to the same conclusion felt real to me. I need to go back and watch this again, but overall I think I really loved it :)

There wasn't a lot of Sam or Dean dialogue in the ep, was there? So a lot was conveyed just by their movements. So Sam checking the walls and doors, and Dean sitting on the floor, and the little routines they had. Sam trying to keep himself moving to not go crazy, and Dean just finding different places to sit as he didn't know what else to do.

Also, probs to Dean for his reaction to the food.

As someone who had a little trouble buying that they were willing to sacrifice one of them to escape, I love the idea that it was actually being separated they couldn't stand! ♥ ♥ ♥

One thing I did love about this episode—it is RIPE for fanfic.
