I was dumbfounded as to why Ketch of all people was brought back to life, but then I listened to a podcast where it was pointed out that he was resurrected to serve in future Mary-plotlines. I felt really dumb for not figuring that out!
Love your polls. I'm torn about Rowena. I always love her scenes, and Ruthie always brings it as an actor, but what is the point of having her back? It feels like they plan to turn her into Crowley-lite in the role of ongoing frenemy, which we don't really need this season.
What fun to take part in your poll when I'd actually seen the episode. Do you know who I want resurrected? MMEEEGGGGG--sorry, I can't say her name without a strangled scream.
Sam was depressed in the previous episode and he's still depressed
It seems that the original plan was for this episode to air before Breakdown. That would have made Sam's depression flow a bit more naturally, with us seeing the beginning of it here and then having him go into full blown depression after hearing Rowena remind him that Lucifer ALWAYS comes back and after having him admit to the fact that he has never really dealt with, let alone gotten over, what happened with Lucifer. However, this didn't work badly in this order and I'm just overjoyed that they are actually having more than one episode that looks at Sam's state of mind.
I'm disappointed they didn't choose to resurrect ______ instead of Cas, Ketch, and Rowena:
I assume you didn't mean to have Arthur Ketch as a choice here? Since he's one of the instead of choices?
Even the angel/demon drama was enjoyable
Angel/Demon drama will never again be enjoyable. Or if it is they will have to really shake things up, and get rid of Lucifer.
I have really liked all of Steve Yockey's episodes. The witch sister drama in this one was a bit weak for me, but I like Rowena and I loved Sam getting a POV, so I was happy all in all.
I'm really enjoying all the new writers, Perez, Yockey and Glynn. The show really needed some new blood, new blood that actually paid attention to continuity. I know it's too much to hope for, but I would not be unhappy if a certain writing team decided it is time to kick back, take a break and retire for a while.
I would like Rovena as the new Crowly because I love her!
But since they are bringing everyone back at the moment I fear that Lady Bavel is coming back too (and I really hope she isn‘t). I just don‘t get why they killed them all last season in the first place.
Even though I was spoiled, I think it was always likely that we'd see Rowena again, but hey, I'm not upset about it. I like never really knowing what she's planning; it makes her interesting. Plus her scenes with the boys are always fun. It does feel like they're setting her up to kill Lucifer and possibility Michael too, by powering her up so much.
Seeing Steve's episodes in a list only strengthens my love for him as a writer - so many favs!!!!

I've liked all of Steve Yockey's episodes and this was the best so far. I'm looking forward to more from him.
I've expected Rowena's return as we saw that Lucifer kept a lock of hair - I'm not sure if it was relevant but I knew she'd be back and I'm pleased as I love her character! She's definitely the new Crowley, she even said 'Hello boys'! And I'm still hoping they resurrect Benny at some point.
I was spoiled from Facebook posts darn it and if I hadn't the credits would have spoiled me. Wish it had been a surprise. I am happy to have Ruth back to fill in the Crowley role since it really looks like Mark won't be back. She is fun. I loved her scenes with Sam. She has great chemistry with both boys. My wish list would be the return of Kevin and Bobby in this universe but alas I don't think that will happen.
I have a theory why they had to make a point of the extra strong witches. It was so that Dean could later in the kitchen say he can't believe we got our asses kicked by a couple of girls, and then Sam says, we get our asses kicked by girls all the time.
So, a sad episode of Supernatural Mirrors Life. I was in Stillwater Oklahoma the day before the episode aired for the way too soon funeral of a friend who was also a Supernatural fan and a colleague. So even though I don't really believe in watching from heaven or whatever, it was a nice inadvertent tribute to David.
I figure Rowena brought the Winchesters because having been double-crossed by the girls, she wanted the back-up against them, plus, if what Sam and she talked about was true, then she was also scared.
As far as people I'd like to see resurrected... I'd love to get more Bobby. He had a good death, but I'd settle for alternate-world Bobby, even.
I'm weeks behind and just watched this episode, and I (unexpectedly) really liked it. But the thing that didn't make sense to ME is that Dean instantly fell for the ruse with the witch sisters, that he wasn't instantly suspicious, and the idea that he would not notice someone acting like an ordinary pickpocket at the very least. He's a man of the world and she was not subtle. Also, he has no particular medical expertise; why wouldn't he first pull out a cell phone and call 911?
I don't think he forgot about Becky; I think he was just dazed by the love spell. :-)

What, you mean y'all actually read this shit? ;-) (Yes, that was a mistake.)
And yes, Steve Yockey has been a good addition, hasn't he?

There is actually no "fifth base," at least as far as the non-Rowena part of the world knows. But it does make you wonder what could be out there. :-)
