Have I forgotten something? Why couldn't Dean pray to Cas and then have him zap them out of there. Has Cas lost the power to teleport (or whatever they call it). Now that I think of it, he does seem to be driving a lot this season. I'm so confused!!!
I'm pretty sure Cas hasn't been able to zap anywhere since he got the last of his Grace back from Metatron. When he took on the last of it (in that library where he used the literary info Metatron infodumped into his head), his wings were falling apart. So I think he has some of his angelic powers, but he hasn't been able to zap since then.
Yeah, I guess they could've prayed to him. Which, maybe they did? I don't know. But even if he could hear their prayers, he still wouldn't know where they were. They had no idea where they were so they couldn't tell him, and they've got the symbols on their ribs so he can't just find them.
I would assume he could still hear their prayers. I mean, he was still getting info about the niphilim on a celestial wavelength, so that would be the same as getting prayers. But maybe they didn't bother praying to him? I mean, what's the point of praying to him if he couldn't come and get them anyway and they didn't know where they were?
My theory on how the Winchesters died is that Billie brought them poison. If she could give Sam Dean's screw (:D :D :D), she could bring them something lethal, I guess?
On Billie not being able to kill people - my understanding is she isn't allowed to kill people, because 'rules'. So maybe reapers actually can physically kill people, but are not supposed to, because their job is to reap people who are already dead.
I really want to BMoL to go away, and never moreso than Ketch going back and slaughtering people. But, on that, I'm kind of assuming it's to stop the boys being pursued by the government, but the President knows about them, and was presumably briefed about their capture. So unless Ketch killed the President, there are still people who know about the Winchesters and that they should be at point 34...
I suppose they could hack into stuff. But why didn't they just hack into things and act like Sam and Dean never existed or were dead? Why kill people? Ugh, just to show what dicks they are I guess...
Maybe. But I'm pretty sure Death kills someone the first time you see him on screen, when they knock against him. But he is a Horseman, so not just a regular reaper.
I couldn't agree more! They irritate me! I wasn't excited about this storyline when they introduced it last season. Then I tried to get on board when Sammy was abducted by that beyotch. All that BAMF Sam and Sam man pain was for nothing, since it was all swept away instantly. Dean was all off complaining about mom issues to cas. Letting CAS look for Sam?? WTF. From there on i had no time for the whole story. And it hasn't gotten better. I'd rather go back to Lucifer (Pelligrino PLEASE Chuck!) being the big bad. He needs to be scary again. The Lucifer that tortured Sam. Ugh, I digress. Sorry lol. I love my show but for the love of god pick an arc and do it right! We're all over the place btw Mary, Cas powered/unpowered, BMOL etc etc.
I also believe that reapers can kill people, but they usually don't. Billie could kill them, but thay's not her job. Also I think Sam and Dean don't talk because knowledge is their only leverage. It may be the only thing keeping them alive. It is a super secret detention center. m :)
They've also been trained to not talk. That was a recurring thing for them when the FBI was after them. They either said as little as possible or they had a story they were ready to roll out. Which, really, what kind of story would they have to roll out about why it looked like they tried to kill the President?
And yeah, as soon as they talked, they were probably going to be executed, especially if it seemed like they were acting alone, or they had no useful information. Not talking bought them more time.
There's no doubt the plot had weaknesses, but I loved the way they managed to show how desperate Sam and Dean were with minimal action. Sam flinching when the door was closed, Dean's dead-eyed look after two weeks had passed...It all felt so visceral to me. These guys don't talk, they don't express their feelings (except when they DO!) and yet I FELT how miserable it was for them to be separated and isolated from each other. That they came to the same conclusion felt real to me. I need to go back and watch this again, but overall I think I really loved it :)
There wasn't a lot of Sam or Dean dialogue in the ep, was there? So a lot was conveyed just by their movements. So Sam checking the walls and doors, and Dean sitting on the floor, and the little routines they had. Sam trying to keep himself moving to not go crazy, and Dean just finding different places to sit as he didn't know what else to do.
As someone who had a little trouble buying that they were willing to sacrifice one of them to escape, I love the idea that it was actually being separated they couldn't stand! ♥ ♥ ♥
One thing I did love about this episode—it is RIPE for fanfic.
I really really enjoyed this episode (and it wasn't at all because of the jump suits ;)!!!! I thought Billie made a deal with the boys, which 'allowed' her to kill one of them. I always thought that reapers could kill, they just weren't supposed to, but maybe I'm wrong.
I left the episode fearing for Cas's future, that he's going to pay the ultimate price for his love of the Winchesters (and possibly for breaking this deal), and I loved all the feels that gave me!!!
My theory on how the boys died in their cells is that Billie is actually Death, so could kill them. I don't think Dean killed Death, but that he's used a different persona - or perhaps he just promoted Billie so he could have a little holiday! Either way, I hope we see Julian back as Death soon!
Wasn't it a reaper in Faith that was killing people? Under magical influence, but still. So maybe reapers can kill, it's just not in their job description.
Hmmm, good point. They can, but they don't. Which doesn't mean they won't/ Although in that case, the reaper was simply being transferred to a different person, so did Billie have to defer someone else's death in order to gank Sam and Dean?
(Are the writers even thinking about this? LOL! No!)
