Episode poll: 11.05, "Thin Lizzie"

Episode poll: 10.05, Thin Lizzie
Sorry the poll is late this week; I've been distracted by all the horrible (wonderful) things being done to Sam over on the OhSam Triple Play 2015, and if you haven't checked this out yet you need to do so.

In the meanwhile, let's take the poll...

[Poll #2027418]

Remember, no spoilers in the comments, please!

Re Amara's evil-ness: I am of the opinion that Show's God is such a jerk that anyone he doesn't/didn't like turned evil out of sheer exasperation. After he divided the Darkness from the Light, the Darkness just got really, really pissed.

[identity profile] caranfindel.livejournal.com 2015-11-09 08:17 pm (UTC)(link)
That's very plausible. :-)

Such a strong episode, and I really want to see the new writer again. Plus I want to see Len again too (especially after his super creepy words about hatching and wings!)

Plus, you forgot the pretty Winchester box in 'things I liked about the episode'. Clearly all the yummy h/c at the ohsam challenge is distracting you from what's really important, which is clearly 'pretty Winchesters' (with a side of hurt!Sam, because that can be prettier) !!! ;)

I KNOW!!! There's new fics every time I check!!!

VOTE A WRITER OFF THE SHOW!!!!
I wold be so stupid and not vote off any of the three I want out, but vote Carver out, maybe! But then ca`n we, like, fangirl at the ones we adore? Ooh! Ooh! Can we resurrect writers who left? Can have fic about all aff this???

The list of writers I'd resurrect is a helluva lot longer than the list of writers I'd keep. But I sometimes wonder if it might solve all the show's problems if we could just resurrect Kim Manners :(

Here's an interesting idea for a poll: list all the regular writers the show's ever had and ask people to pick their dream team. Mine would be:

Kripke
Gamble
Shiban
Edlund
Humphris
Tucker
Thompson
Glass

and, possibly

Berens
Won

Your list is probably the A-team for sure. I love John Shiban's episodes too bad he was only a part of the first season. I might add Daniel Loflin and Andrew Dabb to the maybe list but only as a pair.

and only if they have Kripke/Gamble story editing their scripts. They've both written some shockers in recent seasons.

You should do this poll! I don't pay a lot of attention to the writers but I do know I want Kripke and Gamble back. And Thompson is a keeper.

Go for it!

Len reminded me of the character from Nightshifter- Ronald the one that saw the laser eyes. :)

Len reminded me of Ronald Resnick from season 2's Nightshifter (the one who thought mandroids were real)--kind of bemusedly innocent and Dean felt protective of him.

I don't think Amara is evil (or good), I think she just is. If the Darkness was chaos then that's what she is - which is dangerous to everything within an ordered system just by existing.

I really liked the suspense horror aspect of the ep. You know something bad is in the basement/closet but you don't know when it's going to get you. Then it turned out to be not the scary thing after all. Then, bingo, scary thing jumps out. I like suspense horror way more than gore and I hate torture. This could have gone that way with the axe murderer thing but they didn't for which I am profoundly grateful and entertained.

I'm not sure Dean knows what's up with himself but I think he's starting to wonder.

Re Len: I'm the only one who's reminded of a guy I went to high school with? I don't even believe you people. ;)

Same here.

[identity profile] caranfindel.livejournal.com 2015-11-10 10:50 pm (UTC)(link)
We went to high school with much more exciting guys than you did! ;-)

[identity profile] cuddyclothes.livejournal.com 2015-11-10 03:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Some parts were cute but I was bored. Not worth a rewatch. I feel sad.

Len was definitely reminiscent of "Nightshifter" guy. They even both referenced robots! I think we'll be seeing him again, possibly thoroughly evil at that point. I thought this episode was delightful, a good mix of funny and dark. BTW, am I the only one who got a vibe off of the little kid Sam talked to and his dead eyes- until he inappropriately got perky about "Aunt Linda" or whoever, that visited at Christmas? I figured the only reason Sam got to talk to him instead of Dean was that something's off with the kid.
