Hey, look, I'm doing that weekly post thingie again. What's happening this week?

I signed up for the spn_j2_bigbang earlier today and now I'm kind of regretting it because my story's going to be pretty close to the minimum count, and most of the other stories are RPF and/or very slashy and mine is just Supernatural and gen so no artist is going to be interested. Oh well. I can always illustrate my own fic. Plastic Winchester Theater, anyone?

Get in the car, Cas. We're gonna go get Sam out of Hell.

Speaking of plastic Winchesters, I added to my collection. I picked up a couple of the Funko Mystery Minis, where you can't see what you're buying. I ended up with Cas and Abaddon, which is awesome, but I'm afraid I'll have to keeping buying the damn things until I get Gabriel. Why Gabriel? I have no idea. I just wants him, my precious.

This was supposed to look like they're fighting but it looks more like they're fending off the paparazzi.

And in a little more than 24 hours I'll be watching a new Supernatural again. So, I've got that going for me. And I'm only lightly spoiled so far. Can I stay that way? It would be nice if I could just go to sleep and wake up at showtime tomorrow!

Gen!!! *bounces* I LOVE Gen stories.

We've got to survive spoilerless even longer than you - and annoyingly my hubby has the day off on Thursday which cramps my SPN watching style somewhat. Dammit.

I even encounter that strong predilection for RPF in slash challenges, or slash-friendly challenges, that I enter. I'm not trying to dis RPF, but it's so weird that it seems to have taken over, in terms of popularity, for SPN fic. I mostly can't read RPF; sometimes I try if it's an interesting sort of AU. Trying to branch out, a week or two ago I read a rather poorly written J2 fic. It didn't even have much porn in it. It was a couple of weeks old, if I recall correctly... and closing in on 150 comments. 150! What SPN fic, no matter how brilliant, ever gets that many? It just really irritated me... not that I don't want RPF writers to get the praise, just... ugh. STOP TALKING, SC. ;-)

ETA: I love gen, too; all my favorite writers are gen-focused. <3 Fight the good fight! I'll be reading it.

PERSONALLY I am a big fan of Big Bangs that are 20k and not a penny over! XD That's my plan every year, and trust me, any word over is literally a curse. And while obviously Big Bang means a very different thing in terms of readership for those of us who write SPN gen vs. RPF slash, haha, the artists on both ends are fantabulous, so at least we have that! <333

I'm already so excited to read your nascent BB, and it's still January! TRUST ME, I'LL BE THERE. And I always have infinitely more to say about SPN gen than RPS, because I don't really know enough about RPS to speak to it adequately. XD And gen always deserves extra special love anyhow. ;P

I can't wait for tomorrow night. I've tried so hard to keep from being spoiled... I just wish I didn't have a 12 hour day right before but that's what my iTunes subscription is for- having it handy to watch again after I'm rested up! Counting the minutes...

Gen is GOOD. And artists will be there. (Although I love your minis and wish we could indeed get plastic Winchester theatre too.) I'm so glad you've signed up, it'll be fun :)

I have written RPF in the past but I don't think I will, again. That part of fandom sometimes seems like a different fandom, or at least a clearly defined subset with its own rules and interests. Mostly what it comes down to is that we are clueless, you and me and kalliel, and AO3 and RPF and other stuff befuddles us. XD

Very excited for the new episode and not spoiled at all.

I love a gen fic - especially a juicy casefic bigbang, so yay, I can't wait!!! Don't worry about attracting an artist, just about all the artists on my flist do gen art, so I'm sure your summary with get snapped up.

And yay, new ep soon!! I've curbed my spn fansite viewing for fear of spoilers, it's mostly worked, like you I've only see a few tiny things.
