10.23 Drabble

Part of my continuing challenge to write a 100-word drabble for each episode in season 10. This is for 10.23, Brother's Keeper.

Sammy, close your eyes.

But you can't just yet. Because it's the last time you'll ever see him. Because he's the last thing you'll ever see. Because you have to throw him a lifeline, a way back to himself. Because you have to believe it's not really going to end like this, with him alone and Marked for eternity. And you don't know yet, you will never know, whether you actually saved him, or you died trying. But he will know.

Nod your head.

Forgive him.

Watch him lift the blade that will separate you forever.

And close your eyes.

I love that Show can still break us and give us so many feels over just a few words. I loved what you did here; how you narrowed your focus onto those last few seconds and how for Sam, they're all about Dean. Beautiful, truly beautiful. *cries a zig-zag tear, not quite as perfect as Sam's but I did my best*
