Can we talk Sherlock? Spoilers for 4.02 ahead.

It's not a spoiler to point out that Sherlock continues to poke me with references that remind me of SPN. 4.01 had the "appointment in Samarra" story, and 4.02 gave us H.H. Holmes! As well as (here come the spoilers)...

...Culverton Smith smothering Sherlock by covering his nose and mouth, just like Corbin the hipster werewolf smothered Sam. And, of course, John facing the woman with the gun at the end of the episode.

4.01 was a mixed bag for me (I found Mary's story boring, and her death annoying) but 4.02 was much better. Things I loved:

- SCRUFFY BENEDICT CUMBERBATCH, YOU MAGNIFICENT BASTARD, YOU COMPLETE ME.
- The whole ep was a pile of cracky goodness. I laughed out loud several times. My favorite was Mrs. Hudson and her Aston Martin. "I'm a drug dealer's widow! I own property in central London!" :D And then opening the trunk to reveal Sherlock bound and blinking. Basically, Mrs. H was golden throughout this episode.
- MARTIN FREEMAN I LOVE YOUR FACE.
- ALSO YOUR HAIR.
- Sherlock's junkie pal from S3, whose name I cannot recall.
- SHERLOCK AND JOHN HUGGING IT OUT OMG111!!!111
- Ghost!Mary. So much more interesting than Hired Assassin Who Uses Her Real Name "Mary."
- John confessing his sins.
- Sherlock's bloody eyeball at the end.

Things I could do without

- Rosie continues to be shuffled offstage like an inconvenient soap opera baby.
- Not enough Molly Hooper!
- A hospital with secret doors and hallways that none of the architects knew about? Okay...
- Tumblr informs me that Lady Alicia Smallwood was actually Lady Elizabeth Smallwood in season 3.
- I miss Sally more than I thought I would.

And I'm confused about one thing. Faith's note was real. Crazy Sister Holmes said Culverton gave it to her. So, does that mean Sherlock's deductions concerning the note were accurate? That it had been kept in a book, and then pinned to a bulletin board in front of a window? Because, if that was the case, it means it was in Faith's possession for years (unless her filthy rich father also had a tiny kitchen on a ground floor and kept the note pinned to a bulletin board there, and his daughter never managed to see it). And now she no longer has it. Why, then, was Faith not the slightest bit suspicious when she got a text from her father saying he had to confess what he'd done? Why was she all cheery and jokey when she showed up? As if she hadn't written and kept a note about her father's horrible confession three years earlier? A note that disappeared from her home?

What did you think about it? And please don't spoil me for 4.03!!!
