Don't know, but he didn't write the episodes that brought either item back. Robbie Thompson brought back the amulet in his last ever ep, so it was probably just sentiment on his part and fan-service for those who needed to believe Sam really kept it. Robbie was notorious for that. As for the Colt, that was brought back by the new writer, Davy Perez, but I think bringing that back and destroying it would have been an executive decision from Dabb and Singer. Earlier this season they asked fans who/what they'd like to see make a comeback, so maybe the Colt was part of that. Maybe Joshua was too, but that was an insult. Bringing him back in a different actor then immediately killing him was almost like saying: Joshua's never coming back. Get over it.

Btw, my boys in my serial have used "Christo" if that's any consolation :P
