Walt and Roy did somewhat redeem themselves by joining the hunter posse assault behind Jody and Sam on the UK MOL headquarters last season. Roy didn't survive it, but Walt did, and I think has seen the error of his ways. While I doubt Sam and Dean will ask him out for beers and poker, Walt has been a hunter for a while, is experienced and knowlegeable and can be a resource in the hunters community.
