I miss Dylan's Dean too. But he probably looks too old now to pass as as 14. This kid just didn't do it for me...
1993. Wait a minute. It just occurred to me that 1993 isn't 25 years ago. That would be 1995.
I assumed Dean was just rounding to 25 years because he wasn't bothering to do the actual math/remember exactly what year they were at that particular hotel.
"It's kind of the family business," he says, giving young Sam a significant look. Don't you forget it, kid.
I interpreted that look as a quick check that Sam would be cool with Dean giving the 'monsters are real' speech to these kids.
Re: the ring--I didn't grasp I was looking at a ring when young Dean cut the fingers off. Also like you, don't quite know how a jeweler would fix a stone...
Dean's vision clears and the knife in his hand disappears. So, there was never a knife? Meaning he couldn't have actually committed hara kiri here in the hall? No threat, then?
I puzzled over the same thing! I also wondered what phone number Dean gave Caitlin 27 years ago that he would still have now--that made no sense. I am pretty sure fans aren't supposed to think about things like that. Don't they know by now that we obsess over the details?
What a tease to just show John's arm...
At least Dean got hit by enough anvils about the perils of lying to come clean at the end. Although honestly, he could have fudged a bit when Sam asked if Billie just told him about Jack and said yes. I think that would have been close enough to the truth and would have kept Sam from blowing up at Dean...
So, who is going to sacrifice themself in order to keep Jack alive? Because you know there will be some plan they come up with to end Chuck in their own way because Team Free Will never can follow someone else's plan...
