I dunno why I haven't yet commented on this one (ok, I know, I was reading it on my tablet which is a pain to type comments on and then I just... I'm a flake) anyway, I really enjoyed coming back here though and going through the comment discussion as well, there was some good stuff and people already mentioning things I would have added. So, since I'm pretty much entirely d'accord with your analysis of the episode - new child Winchesters made me cringe at the beginning, even though they didn't turn out to be so bad, but actually did? - had that exact thought about the stone, wtf? - would have loved to see Baba Yaga earlier in the series, cause she's legit a great monster (but yo, that one jump scare with the grab out of the vending machine? that made me jump about a foot, it was kinda awesome) - wasn't really a fan of the ambosses dropping on Dean regarding truthtelling (show used to be a bit more subtle than that or is that just me? Maybe it's time constraints) - yup, Bobby's FBI number - seriously, Dean's Death Book is one of the unsolved mysteries of the show we're probably never going to get mentioned again which HAUNTS me - the last scene, God, that was amazing. Painfully, predictably, unpredictably, heart-wrenchingly amazing. And yes, Sam was fucking right to be angry.
OK. I thought that list would be more succinct. Technically I only wanted to tell you a couple of things, which don't get mentioned often enough, I think - 1) I love how you took the song lyric title and ran with it, just ran with it for the whole review, it made me smile. 2) I know you sometimes put it in very sarcasstic, self-deprecating terms, but I actually adore how you always latch onto small nerdy details like the continuity fairy (or better yet, her absence) and timeline reality checks and stuff. That is legit some of the funniest stuff about your reviews to me, when you snark about places not being reachable in their time frame or being too reachable or being not there at all etc. I just love it.
