I have serious suspicions about Geri as well. I don’t trust her as far as I could throw her.
To be fair, the B plot wasn’t any more ridiculous as those logistics of that trail ride. Like you, I was expecting Cordell to get a horse trailer from the ranch, and I didn’t know it was 71 miles away! But yeah, trail ride. Makes perfect sense. In general, I’m not fond of B plots either. I so feel you on Cas having his own plot.
I think Bon meant that the mushroom hunt was about Hoyt ;)
It seemed to me that Cordell had an odd staccato way of speaking in this ep. Maybe it’s not new, but I hadn’t noticed it before. Maybe it was supposed to reflect his nervousness or discomfort. I don’t know but I didn’t care for it.
I’m curious to see where it goes from here with Cordell on leave, Stella feeling the weight of her mistakes, and Bon and Abilene making up … and the return of Bret?
I also didn’t miss Emily. I just don’t think her appearance is necessary and I’m glad the writers saw it my way this week. Now, if they’d show us that she has a little more depth — I wonder about her relationship with Memaw, for example — that might be interesting.
