Just so you know, I love you. And I absolutely fucking love this, or both of these, or all three of these, as these two versions interact and intersect with 10x03's canon. Like, WORDS CANNOT DESCRIBE. HOW MUCH I LOVE THESE.
This is probably my favorite line, but it was a hard choice because really I just want to copy and paste this entire thing and quote it back to you as my favorite line:
You collapse into the chair, the same chair you were tied to earlier, when Sam was trying to tie you again to everything you'd left behind, and it's appropriate, because he did it; you are tied down to all of it again.
That idea of being tied down to "all of it" and that being the takeaway here is so great; and the metaphor is employed so deftly here, as well. I feel like there are so many ways to belabor said metaphor in a way that doesn't really sing, but sing this does--it's sad, excellent, strangled little song. And the second part of this, I loved it in just the poll checkbox version, but seeing it in its full expression here is something else entirely. Just, omg. I love this I love this I love this.
