I totally agree with your gripes re Dean and Amara talking too much, and especially Rowena pushing Sam on the subject of the spell. What, was there a time limit? There is something very wrong there -- and I'm pretty sure that little miss fangirl had something to do with the wards failing in the first place. "I'm a professional," indeed.
And yes, Sam was abjectly beautiful in the episode. Jared and Mark P. ruled the roost -- and don't forget about Sam's OPT. Was it is his first? ;)
those are some nitpicky bad things and a SHITLOAD of good.
