As someone who paid for the down payment on a murder-house--actually, it is. In PA, at least, anything that might affect the saleability of the house needs to be reported to buyers. Deaths in the house count.
Not in Michigan, according to nolo.com: "While some states have specifically addressed whether sellers must disclose whether a property is “stigmatized” (by death, murder, infectious disease, and so forth), Michigan has not yet specifically addressed this issue."
But I'm going to accept that Rufus and Bobby knew some states required it and assumed Michigan was one of them. ;-)
