Considering he had his jacket on when he fell into Hell... maybe he had it the whole time. Cas didn't rebuild his body after the Cage - he pulled him out physically, right, leaving the soul behind? If his body came out intact despite everything that happened in the Cage, who's to say his clothes didn't, too? Since Chuck turned off the necklace, it might not have even blipped Michael and Lucifer's radar.

I have been thinking about things, and thinking I will be okay if it's Dean who stops the Darkness rather than Sam... after all, Sam stopped the Apocalypse, which so many folks on the show seem to forget Dean actually kicked off... so there's an okay parallel for me here if he does. So long as he's not missing at the end of the season. (One more search-for-Dean cliffhanger and I'mma gonna bash my head against a wall.) So Dean or Sam, okay. Just... just not Cas.
