Technical note: when Chuck was Angry God, the VFX team smoothed his face, no lines, no wrinkles.
Hmmm. I wonder why? Must rewatch.
Wasn't the Samulet in Sam's drawer in one of the episodes? It was off to one side, but a lot of people enlarged screenshots. I think Chuck put it in his pocket, though.
Sam had the fake Samulet in his memory box. The one the girls gave Dean during Fan Fiction.
Chuck as God: the real Chuck is in Heaven since another prophet only appears when the last one dies. However, God kept the meatsuit. Easy-peasy and it doesn't wreck half the show's basic Canon.
I like it. I've seen a theory before that Chuck became God's vessel during Swan Song. Because Chuck is anxious as hell (heh) when he's waiting for the end, and it just doesn't seem like the way God would be acting.
Metatron as God: What I loved in S9 was Metratron was such a turd, but when he was talking about God, "do you know much pancake makeup and lighting he had to have to work a rope line?" (I.E. red carpet reference) Metatron had real reasons to want to be God, besides being a power-crazed weasel. Then to have him chalk it up to wanting God's attention...GRRR. Again, it might have been even more powerful if Metatron said, "Because I could do a better job than you have!"
Of course, if Metatron wanted to suck up to God, he would certainly say something like "because I wanted your attention, oh beloved father..."
