I didn't think that Demon Jack thought ALL the souls were in the cemetery, he just blasted all the souls that were in the cemetery away, there are billions near other Hell Gates that aren't in the town.

I'm 100% sure Belphegor isn't a low level demon, but I'm not sure who or what he is. He could be Chuck, but I hope not, Chuck never really had that much of a sense of humor. I wouldn't mind a resurrected demon, Ruby, Meg or Alistair come to mind. Or he could be a Prince of Hell.

I didn't mind Dean trusting a demon that much. He DID go along with Ruby in season 3 and for a while in season 4, until it became obvious that she was pulling Sam away from him. Add to that, Crowley was on their side at least some of the time and died to save them, so I think that influences Dean's thinking. Plus, Dean has been a demon and spent a lot of time not doing anything too bad,(Demon Dean was a MASSIVE disappointment) so now he can buy that a demon would just want to be selfish and not want to go on a human killing rampage.

MY KINGDOM FOR A RETURN OF MEG. I know it's not going to happen but it's still my #1 top of the list when it comes to bringing back characters.

I am so fixated on Sam and his godhole that everything else seems fine! LOL I am handwaving away just as long as I get a good Sam and Dean story to end the series.

Unless Belphegor can control the spirits and actually organized for that to happen . . .

That's an interesting idea. There's too many coincidences, something is going on.

Also file under annoying--

John Wayne Gacy was a serial killer of teenage and early 20s boys, not little kids and moms :(

OMG YESSSSSSS!!!! He didn't slaughter birthday parties, nor did he do it in that annoying voice. He was a creepy rapist and pedophile and Sam should have been offended at that ghost on behalf of his knowledge of serial killers.

Belphagar might be someone else, but he isn't a Prince of Hell. In SPN, the Princes of Hell were Azazel, Ramiel, Asmodeus, and Dagon. The show has it's own way of writing things, and it doesn't always match google stuff.

I'm not expecting show to reveal him as a "Prince of Hell" either, but the fact that Google calls him that indicates that we're dealing with a very high level, powerful, and specific demon. I don't think Belphegor is anyone other than who he says he is. It's what he is that he's hiding, and what his true agenda is. He ain't no card punching grunt, that's for sure. And he's not here to help the Winchesters. I think at least part of his agenda is to pave them a nice easy slippery slope down to Hell.

Belphegor is also Sloth, according to google, but we've already had Sloth on Spn, and he wasn't named that. We don't know if the show is just using the name, or if they're using some aspects of Belphegor from google, and then giving it a new twist, as the show does with so many characters. I'm eager to find out what his motives are (beyond what he's already revealed).

That'd be my guess.

I'm hoping Belphagor (spelling, whatever) is actually Michael.

I reckon they'll bring Jake Abel back to play Michael, and that will be the issue for the second half of the season, after they've defeated Belphegor and his ghosts.

Since Belphegor is the demon of sloth, I'm figuring the easy and convenient 'spells' are significant - get the Winchesters used to him being able to provide an easy fix whilst, at the same time, the supposedly necessary ingredients become gradually more and more morally ambiguous. (NB, I reckon the spells are fake; he's just a powerful demon who can control the spirits in order to manipulate the Winchesters. Maybe he's even the one who raised the spirits - and all Chuck did was to release Belphegor, knowing the chaos he'd bring with him. Their challenge - rather than to vanquish 3000,000,000 spirits - is to recognize Belphegor for what he is and defeat him.)

I'm not concerned about the ghosts not following the rules, tbh. I think that their time in hell has released them from earthly constraints, and they are running amuck. I'm ok with that, though the daylight fight scene did not work for me.

I love that you're calling Sam's wound his 'godhole', that made me chuckle! I've so missed your sense of humor, welcome back!

With regards to Sam's vision, I think he'll become leader of hell to fight against insane Michael but he'll get a bit power-crazed, Hopefully this will not involve Lucifer in any way, shape or form!!
