Things that remain unanswered. Sam and Dean know that vamps can live as "vegetarian" I call foul that once turned they didn't take that route and I think Sam would have said the future was unbelievable because HE knew they could and would take that option.

I think Dean going to Purgatory was the right thing because they only had a 12 hour window to find the Leviathan blossom and it was better that the 2 of them go in. If it had just been Cas, he would have been caught by the Leviathan and that would have been that. Or he could have been killed by other Purgatory inhabitants. Two people mean twice as much of a chance to find the blossom and have at least one get out.

On Sam's insistence that Dean never gives up. Dean DOES give up all the time, although he usually comes back, however, whenever Sam "gives up" or messes up, Dean tends to go on and on and on about how he (Dean) would never give up. After Sam got out of the Cage, Dean said he kept looking for a way to get him out, but it seemed like he trolled the Internet and hit the library a couple of times, then started working, making friends and going to barbecues. NOTE: I have nothing against Dean doing that. It was what he promised Sam and what Sam wanted and it was healthy. However when Sam broke and didn't look for Dean between seasons 7 and 8, Dean was all up in his grill about Sam abandoning him and how HE (Dean) never gave up on Sam. I think Sam has bought into the narrative that Dean never gives up and has pushed the times Dean did give up to the back of his mind, or excused them by Dean's coming around eventually.

This was a pretty good episode. There were holes, but some of them may not be holes i.e. I will not be shocked if Cas turns out to actually be a Leviathan, since the Leviathan did hold the memories of the people whose bodies they replicated i.e. the Sam clone talked about feeling the crazy that was in Sam's mind. So Cas saying he heard Dean's prayer isn't proof positive that he is Cas.

How do we feel about Sam wearing my favorite shirt again in the next episode?

You left that question off. I would have checked "so awesome and I'll wear mine too while I'm watching".

I wasn't thrilled with the whole Sam/Eileen storyline but finding out that Chuck orchestrated the whole thing and her saying she doesn't know what's real - my heart. That was really sad.

My big question is - what the hell happened to Adam/Michael? A one-off appearance in one episode is what the writers are giving us after we waited ten years to see Adam again? Jake Abel's performance was amazing in that ep. It's possible he might not be available due to other work (I know he was in a recent Netflix show) or due to issues in his personal life. But I want him back! Michael is the only archangel left, and they need every big gun they can get.
