If so, it would be cool if Sam and Dean commented on it, like "How are they doing that? When did they learn how to do that?" I like characters changing and growing. I don't like it when it feels more like convenient retconning because we need a character to have (or lose) an ability suddenly after 13 seasons just because someone writes themselves into a corner.
Yes, I agree that if Sam and Dean had commented on the angels new ability it would have been better. I think I fill the gaps left by the writers - and give perhaps them too much credit!
