Let’s talk about Walker for a minute

Okay, I'm not officially watching Walker, but I'm also not not watching it? Which means I've downloaded some episodes (eps 5-9) and watched most of them? I've skipped a lot of the parts that aren't Walker or his smoking hot brother (ha, Jared Padalecki and a hot brother, where have I heard that song before?) but I've still managed to come up with some thoughts. Spoilers below.
- Seriously, that brother! (Damn, Liam, you shoulda kept the beard.)
- Walker's son has a crush on a girl named Ruby?
- I read they asked Jared to grow a beard to age him up, but honestly, he just looks so much younger with the shorter hair.
- Younger and freaking hot.
- Why is a bandanna tied around his wrist so goddamn sexy? WHY.
- So a psychologist threatens to do something really, really inappropriate in order to teach her "headstrong" daughter a lesson, and that daughter is just like, "ha, okay Mom, you win, lesson learned?" Yeah no.
- A woman is fingered for a hit and run based on DNA? How did she leave DNA at the scene? Did she abandon her car, and if so, wouldn't that be an easier way to catch her? And why did this fine upstanding citizen already have DNA on file?
- A big-ass Texan is nicknamed Cordi by his family? Cordi? No. Cord, Dell, Bubba, maybe Cordy at best. But there is no way on God's green earth that anyone would have called him Cordi with a freaking I.
- I hoped a show made by actual Texans would know how tornadoes really work, and they did better than most shows/movies (looking at you, Twister), but there was still some stupidity. Mostly (1) Gramma Walker was wearing a coat and a heavy scarf that day, and listen people, tornadoes are formed when it's humid and hot, and (b) a Ranger calls the hospital and says "we're in a tornado warning" and they say "cool, we'll set up a mobile hospital unit at the high school" NO, it does not work like that.
- Jared is clearly not playing Sam and yet he has, at least once, used the Single Upraised Finger of Reason.
- Let's stand here in the parking lot of the building we're staking out and have an argument about the stakeout. No one will notice.
- That Juliet and Romeo-themed dance reveal was just a little on the nose, and also, please tell me no high school would really theme a dance around a play where two teenagers knew each other for like three days and six people died?
- A woman just straight-up murders a suspect in front of law enforcement and then walks away.
So, some good stuff, some nonsense. But I will tell you that 1.09, while it included some nonsense, also included one of those scenes where I always say this, right here, this makes this whole episode worth watching. And it was the flashback where Cordell identifies his wife's body.
First, Cordell is dressed exactly like Sam Winchester.

Exhibit A
Next, we get his reaction when his friend asks if he's told the kids yet. Sadly, I could not find a gif of this, nor cap it clearly. You'll just have to imagine him closing his eyes, wincing, looking away.
But you don't have to imagine him seeing her body, reaching out with a trembling hand to touch her but holding back because when he does touch her she's going to be cold and he will no long be able to pretend she's just sleeping, falling to his knees, and then collapsing on her, sobbing. Because I have it all right here,

Exhibit B I'M FINE THIS IS FINE
You know what? Throw me all the ridiculous tornado-related nonsense you want. This makes up for it. This is a hit to the vein, right here.

Sometimes you need a still image to stare at.
And if you are watching... we all agree Gerri did it, right?
