All I've seen of next week is some caps on tumblr but I'm really worried for the boys, not because of anything I've seen, just because it's the mid-season hiatus start episode thing and there's always agony, death, the family business.
The only comment I have about the last part of this ep was that the sad Dean family music was playing while they were all talking.
Carniverous vampires have been spending too much time watching Hannibal. Hippy Chick probably should have stuck with weed brownies. Maybe that's why they ate the whole body...munchies.
Dumpster Diver Man should have got a Darwin Award.

I have this vague pit in my stomach when I watch the show these days. As much fun as I'm having with these monster-of-the-week episodes, I KNOW the truly awful stuff is looming ahead. :(
Jodie's hair - glad you brought that up. She's always awesome, but I definitely preferred her hair before. Also, I loved her having continued contact with Sam (someone elsewhere suggested he hadn't told her he'd found Dean because he was waiting to see if it panned okay first and yeah, like THAT'S gonna happen). I also (also) loved her having a little chat with Dean, even if he didn't really take the opportunity to open up to her. I think I would watch a Jodie spin off, so long as Sam and Dean popped from time to time to keep my estrogen levels happy.
Sam and Dean's conversation at the end (and with previous ones and his interaction with Cole) - I really can't get a handle on whether Dean's lying to Sam or himself. Or telling the truth in parts. Arghh!
Hope you enjoyed the boozing! I like drinking wine really fast and then going writing. I'm always interested to see how coherent it is in the morning. :)
So, on Wednesday, I clicked on my friend's list and there, at the very top, was a post with a clip from next week's trailer playing with no cut in sight. And it wasn't an ambiguous, wow that doesn't give everything fucking away clip either. Gaaaah. Why no cut for spoilers, people?
Anyway, I liked Jody's hair and yeah, Sam's got a lot on his mind. And I'd watch a Jody and Donna spinoff, I think.
Well damn. I saw a nano seconds-worth and 3 screen caps and that was bad enough. People suck - but actually, I blame the Networks for always putting TOO much into trailers/promos. Half the time they give away really crucial plot points and completely ruin the impact. If I was the show runner/SPN crew, I'd be really pissed off about that.
There were a lot of things that I liked about this episode. I LOVED Jody in all respects and I kind of expected her to just shoot Doug. I kind of wanted her to just shoot Doug. I loved her with Donna. There were a few things that I was uncomfortable with, but it was a Jenny Del episode so my brain just kind of shuddered over them and focused on Jody and Donna again.
Seriously, though. I love Sam and Jody's relationship, just love it.
As for the preview for next week - I kind of want to avoid ranting because it hasn't aired. I'm not enthusiastic, but we'll see how the episode turns out. Girls, Girls Girls' preview looked like one thing and turned out to be something very different so...
I don't know how I feel about that conversation at the end, really. A lot of people are holding it up next to Dean promising to tell Sam if anything goes sideways, and I kind of thing... is there even a chance Sam ever believed that was going to happen, really? Dean admitting he's not coping would involve Dean admitting to himself he's not coping. I mean it can't really be news to Sam that things aren't right, can it? I kind of hope that he's been keeping a contingency plan in mind all along, or something.
On the one hand, I was surprised by Dean volunteering any information about how he was feeling, but on the other, I can't help but interpret it in the light of the 'past saving' comments. Maybe I'm being overly pessimistic, but I read it more as an attempt to smooth things over/reassure Sam in the expectation that they don't have much time left.
I'm pretty much in love with the Jody & Donna spinoff idea. They were so awesome. Though I am a little disappointed that Jody didn't lamp Doug one.
As far as a favorite lines go, the badge bit wins hands down. I also adored Jody chewing Doug out for fat-shaming. It wasn't a line so much as an awesome moment.
I loved the brotherly feels at the end, but would it kill those two to actually resolve something ever? Clearly, everything is not good, and they both know it.
I want to know more about Sam's arm. I want to see more off-the-deep-end-searching-for-Dean!Sam. The demon at the beginning called him "one of us." I want to see that, show. Sigh.
Hellatus would be so much easier if netflix would let me make a playlist of soulless!Sam, mystery spot, the end of Sacrifice, and all of the Sam or Dean sex/workout scenes. I'd watch that on repeat until the new episode, happily.

Yes, this. It had to be more than being mean to demons. And it couldn't be referring to Lester. What was it?
cuddyclothes, all is forgiven, but I deleted your comment just in case someone else trying to stay unspoiled might see it, and now I can't reply to your other comment to let you know what I did. :-/
Vampires who eat flesh and scavenge the body for useful things. We've seen variants of monsters in the past, not including the alphas. For instance, the werewolf Madison didn't remember what she did when transformed, later ones did, and some werewolves can survive on animal hearts. I always ascribed it to an evolution of sorts. Ever since season six, however, I file the really bizarre traits under "Eve's Experiments".
Also, why steal leather when they could skin the guy and make their own? I think the leather thief was taking it as a trophy. Which would make him a kinky serial-killer vampire.
