This isn't the most watchable episode poll - I think we need to digest a while before we're ready for that - but there are so many other questions to ask!

[Poll #2012458]

Overall I liked this season, but wasn't quite sure what to check. Mostly my opinion is "uneven"-- some fantastic, stand-out-great episodes and some epically terrible ones, along with a few meh or pretty good ones. I actually thought seasons 6 and 7 were better, but 10 was better than 9 and WAY better than 8.

The finale... what I checked made it sound like I liked it less than I did. There were some great moments, but overall as a season finale it was disappointing. One issue you touched on in your poll was that there wasn't a clear demarcation between Dean most of the season, Dean when he was getting taken over by the MoC, and Dean when he went off the deep end and was going to kill Sam. Did he really plan to? Why was he so cold before, during, and even AFTER the Mark was gone? Did he really not have anything to say to Sam? Did he even FEEL different? Even Demon!Dean wasn't as bad as MoC dean, but only MoC Dean *sometimes*... there just was no character consistency.

And when is Sam EVER going to get any credit for... anything? No one seems to care, including Dean, that he was willing to die AGAIN for the good of the world. It seems like everyone's only ever mad at him for his choices, no matter what they are. And nothing is ever explained about them, on his side or from canon's perspective, or Dean's, or anything... he has no character consistency either.

I had a lot of unanswered questions about this season, but overall it's a "LOL continuity" issue at this point. I'm not very interested in The Darkness-- there are ways to make it interesting, but I doubt they will. I guess I'm sad that it doesn't feel like the show is going to go in a direction I'm interested in, ever. There's too much obsession with raising the stakes. I've said this a lot elsewhere, but they can't keep doing that; how much higher can the stakes get? Once you've gone death and apocalypse for EVERYONE multiple times, don't you think there's a ceiling? I want them to *lower* the stakes-- obviously there will still be death and mayhem and heroics, but maybe simplify a bit, look toward a different possible future for the boys?

Anyway, great poll, I always love these. :-)

Yeah, I think they end to step back from the apocalyptic plots. They've gone as far as they can. And I really hope, at some point in S11, that someone acknowledges Sam was willing to die for DEAN'S mistake.
